I got this board for some rosewood and boxwood pieces I bought at the antique store. It's a lovely board with just enough gloss to bring out the grain in the wood, but not enough to blind the players. Macassar ebony isn't traditionally recommended for matching with rosewood pieces, but I found them to really look lovely on this board.
