The rich orange and brown colors of the African Padauk are identical to red sandalwood. This is a 3-tier chess board starting with a wide padauk frame with a maple accent line followed by a second (raised) padauk frame, and then finally the raised squares. Four thick felt pads elevate the chess board to keep it from ever scratching your furniture. This board will fit chess sets with up to a 2.25" base and up to a 5" tall king.
